    Description

Photograph taken in 1963 of downtown East Grand Forks, Minnesota looking north-northeast down DeMers Avenue at night. The photo looks to be taken from the point where the Kennedy Bridge, over the Red River from Grand Forks, connects to East Grand Forks.

Parked cars align both sides of the street with just a couple driving. There are blade/projecting signs and awnings from businesses and street light lighting up the street.

Some prominent businesses seen in photograph are, on the left side of photo, Whitey's Cafe and Lounge Restaurant, Howard's Pizza, Brownie Cleaners, Gopher Bar and Tavern; on the right side of photo, Rudh Bros. Furniture,  and East Grand Forks Federal Savings Bank.
