Description
Photograph of the Grand Forks Lumber Co on the Red Lake River.
The caption on the back of the photograph reads, "This is the Grand Forks Lumber Co., which was located in East Grand Forks on the Red bank. it was a major industry of the are in 1899 (date of photo). Each season the Mill employed about 300 persons. Logs floated down the Red Lake River from northern Minnesota. The industry died out by 1910."
