Description

This photograph was taken during the construction of the Sorlie Memorial Bridge, also known as the Red River Bridge, in 1929 to connect the cities of Grand Forks, N.D. and East Grand Forks, M.N. The Sorlie Memorial Bridge runs along DeMers Avenue on both sides of the Red River of the North. In 1999 it was placed on the National Register of Historic Places.
