Description
The Panovitz Building in the early 1900s on South Third Street and Kittson Avenue. An advertisement from 1905 read: 'Cash if you have it - Credit if you want it. S. Panovitz, The Complete Home Furnisher. Furniture, Carpets, Stoves, Crockery, Glassware, Draperies, Sewing Machines, Tinware, Etc." The Panovitz Building, located at 33 S. 3rd Street, holds a significant place in the city's history. It was designed by renowned local architect Joseph Bell DeRemer, and was occupied by the Panovitz Furniture Store. The building has been home to many businesses throughout history and tells the history of early immigrants and their investment in our booming frontier town.. it was saved and carefully rehabilitated following the 1997 flood. It is currently leased out office space.
