Artist Bio
Kentucky native Evan Decker was born in 1912. Although he spent most of his life as a farmer & carpenter, he eventually made a name for himself as a folk and outsider artist. Decker was drawn to western Americana influences, creating numerous western themed pieces, including a life sized horse. The stencils in this collection were created and used by Decker to create works with wood. Evan Decker resided in Delta, Kentucky until his death in 1981.
