Abstract

Photo contest aims to capture the spirit of UND

President Robert Kelley's call-to-action at Exceptional UND: Realizing the Vision on Sept. 10 spurred the University of North Dakota campus to be involved in the accreditation process.

In preparation for the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) site visit, Exceptional UND is holding a campus-wide photo contest. All members of the campus community are encouraged to submit photos of things that they feel make UND exceptional by Wednesday, Sept. 25, at midnight.

Participants will submit photos according to five categories that mirror the five Exceptional UND priorities: enrich, gather, collaborate, expand, and enhance. The different perspectives will serve as the collective portrait of the University and will play a key role in the HLC reaccreditation process.

The contest will also raise student awareness of the importance of the HLC visit.

In addition to having their photo featured in the Dakota Student, contest winners can expect to see their photos displayed across campus as a welcome to the HLC as they conduct their site visit on Oct. 28-30.

All photos submitted have the opportunity to win t-shirts, $50 UND Bookstore gift cards and more. Guidelines, contest rules, and the photo submission forms are all available at UND.edu/hlc/photo.

Show the HLC how exceptional UND is with photos that capture the true essence of the University.

The Exceptional UND photo contest is sponsored in part by the UND Bookstore and the Dakota Student.
