Description
In February 2021, severe winter storms caused widespread power outages throughout Texas. Initially, windmills were blamed for the loss of power, but the impact was more widespread, halting major infrastructure for weeks and having significant economic consequences. This poster provides an overview of the occurrence, its economic impact, investigates its causes, and offers recommendations for winterizing Texas' energy infrastructure, including power plants, windmills, and other Distributed Energy Resources (DERs).
