From James Carley's notes: Stoneware jug 13 3/4" high, of brown, unrefined body with brown alkaline glaze, quite irregular. Mark = a circle. 7/8" dia., evidently incised, opposite the handle. Good shape. The greatest diameter is just about half way. It is possilbe it was made in two sections., dividing at that point. Purchased Savannah GA.
