Additional Information

From James Carley's notes: Redware covered jar 12" high, with peppery brown metallic glaze, inside and out, wiped off base and bottom of cover. The glazer's finger marks show. 20 scratched on the base. Rounded lip. Slightly convex form, with incised lines at shoulder and belly, and a careful foot. Smelled of brown sugar. Purchased in Nashville, Ind. Very likely by the same potter as #6.

Condition Notes

Lid and lip of jar chipped, tap adhered to surface
