Additional Information

From James Carley's notes: Stoneware molasses jug. 12" high, well formed with cordoning at the neck & cup shaped mouth. Brown slip, but with much variation in color - yellow, taupe where unglazed at the base seems a gray salt glaze. The slip is pocked with bronze-red, tan, and dark brown. Purchased Indianapolis antique show from M. Bender, who said it came from the Cavenaugh estate (funeral director), Detroit Michigan.
