From James Carley's notes: Gray stoneware croch, 4 gallons, 11" high, 11 1/2" wide. Marks: impressed, filled with blue HAXTON & CO. FORT GOWARD, N.Y. 41. The design in blue is of crossed birds on branches. The bottom and rim are unglazed. Interior of black-tanish brown. Purchased Indpls. antique show. See image for additional details.
