From James Carley's notes: Stoneware jar of elegant shpae, 9" high, salt glaze with purplish blushes. Dark brown lining. This is a corker, the earliest type of canning vessel. It has a reverse curve, a well formed neck, a flat rim. Slouring downward.Pur. Indpls. antique show.
