Description
This report, dated April 12, 1956, printed on Three Affiliated Tribes Tribal Business Council letterhead, was presumably prepared by the council and sent to United States (US) Representative Usher Burdick, though it is addressed to "Otto," provides a summary of a General Council meeting from April 11, 1956. The subject of the meeting was per capita payments, US Senate Bill 2151, and its accompanying US House Bill 10221. A three item petition was filed by a group opposing the bill. The meeting held deliberation and then a vote to establish support for the bill. All 8 districts were present for the vote and 121 people voted for and 9 voted against.
