Description
View of Hannah E. Davis' parlor in Davis Hall, including a chaise lounge in the corner, an easel with paintings, several pictures hanging on the wall. In the left corner of the photograph is a bookshelf next to a small table with a basket on top. In the middle of the parlor is a table covered by a small table cloth with a plant sitting on top and a small glass vase. In front of the curtained window is a table with four pots of flowers and plants. The walls are covered with wallpaper. Hannah E. Davis (d. 1898) served as a preceptress/matron of Ladies Hall (1892-1896) and also taught English Literature and drawing (1893-1898). In honor of Davis, President Merrifield requested that Ladies Hall be renamed Davis Hall in 1900.
