The Spirit of Prophecy, played by Cecil McKay, stands in front of a canoe on the bank of the English Coulee, which is in the background, for the 1914 Pageant of the Northwest. The Pageant of the Northwest was written by eighteen students under the supervision of Orin G. Libby and Fredrick Koch. The pageant employed several students and a few Native American extras to portray the four successive stages of the exploration of the Northwest.
