Description
Webster Merrifield, Yale University Alum, was initially hired as a Professor of Greek and Latin (1884 - 1886). He served as the first University Librarian (1888 - 1891) and then as President of the University of North Dakota (1891 - 1909). He was instrumental in creating the Liberal Arts curriculum.
