The players are practicing a play with the center holding the ball. In the right corner is a horse pulling a carriage with two people in it. The 1905 team, coached by George J. Sweetland, won six games, tied North Dakota Agricultural College 11-11, defeated North Dakota Agricultural College 23-5, and lost to Minnesota 45-0. In 1905 there was controversy regarding the alleged ineligibility of two University players.
