Description

In this audiovisual recording from Saturday, March 26, 2022, as part of the 53rd Annual UND Writers Conference: “Communities and the Individual,” Hanif Abdurraqib, Kaitlyn Greenidge, and Cal Lane participate in a panel called “Life.” The panelists begin by discussing little pleasures that help sustain their daily lives and how they move from the initial moment of curiosity to a more focused place of creative exploration. The panelists also respond to audience questions about books and works of art that define or situate them in their present time of life, their thoughts about the recent restrictions and bans on certain literature and art in American schools, the role of social media in their personal and professional lives, the incorporation of art and work from other disciplines and medias, how to achieve an effective work/life balance, and things that are essential to their process that they didn’t know when starting out.

Moderated by Anna Kinney, Coordinator of the University Writing Program.
