Description

Audio/video footage of Frank X Walker reading at the 41st annual UND Writers Conference on March 25, 2010. In this footage, Walker reads selected poems from Buffalo Dance: The Journey of York and When Winter Come: The Ascension of York, his series giving a voice to York, William Clark’s slave who accompanied the Lewis and Clark Expedition. Walker also reads selections from a forthcoming book initially entitled No More Fear: The Rebirth of Medgar Evers, later published as Turn me Loose: The Unghosting of Medgar Evers, discussing the assassination of Medgar Evers, an African American civil rights activist and NAACP secretary in Mississippi.
