The panelists discuss their sense of identity as Latino, Latina, and Chicana people, the repression of identity, writing in Spanish and English, cross-cultural experiences, feeling compelled to write, publishing, and cultural assimilation and appropriation of Indigenous peoples. During the panel Anzaldúa reads “How to Tame a Wild Tongue” from Borderlands/La Frontera.
