This cookbook was created by Elise Lismoen while enrolled at a cooking school in Oslo, Norway. The recipes include ingredients, measurements, and preparation details. Many of the pages are loose and some are stained, suggesting the recipes were frequently used. The back cover of the cookbook is missing. The vast majority of the recipes were handwritten in Norwegian.
Elise Lismoen was born in Norway in 1881. She emigrated to the United States in 1907 and eventually settled in Hatton, North Dakota. She died in August 1940 in Grand Forks and is buried in Mayville.
