Jaune Quick-to-See Smith is an enrolled member of the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes of the Flathead Indian Nation, Montana. She has received world-renowned status as a painter and printmaker. Her art contrasts abstract and representational elements while combining stylistic characteristics associated with both Western modern art and traditional native forms, visually addressing old traditions and current social concerns.
