Artist Bio

Richard Black obtained his bachelor’s degree in 1957 from Drake University in Iowa and later his master’s in 1958 from the University of Wisconsin. Black taught for 34 years as the Professor of Art and Head of Printmaking at Drake University from 1960-1994. Black’s main art style is in printmaking, using the intaglio process to create works of art with a collage-like feeling.
