Abstract

The North Dakota Farmers’ Holiday Association was a militant agrarian organization which appeared in 1932. Relying on massive commodity withholding actions and road picketing, it sought better prices for farm products. This thesis concerns itself primarily with the manner in which the public press reacted to the FHA and attempts to distinguish among the different types of response.
