Description
This presentation examines the practical reliability of Remote ID for real-time UAS surveillance and highlights several operational limitations that affect tracking continuity, detection confidence, and airspace awareness. The study presents a data-driven evaluation framework developed to analyze high frequency Remote ID observations alongside external UAS detection and telemetry data streams. The framework incorporates second-level temporal synchronization, geospatial matching and event-driven detection analysis to assess how inconsistencies in Remote ID broadcasts influence monitoring performance. The goal of this work is to provide government, industry, and academic stakeholders with a practical assessment of the current capabilities and limitations of Remote ID as the UAS ecosystem continues to expand.
