Abstract
Infant reflexes are automatic, instinctive responses that infants possess to ensure their best chance to thrive. These reflexes serve as critical steps for survival, emotional regulation, and building blocks for early development. Understanding the role of reflexes in early infant development provides important implications for caregivers, physicians, and child psychologists. Being able to not only recognize but also promote and support these reflexes ensures healthy monitoring and response to support favorable growth and development and the best opportunity for infants and children in the sensorimotor stage to thrive.
