Artist Bio
Margie Morin is a member of the Turtle Mountains Band of Chippewa Indians in North Central North Dakota. She relocated to Albuquerque, NM in 1989 and worked for nearly 30 years for Bureau of Indian Affairs constructing schools on reservations throughout Indian country.
Margie started Native Ribbon Creations six years ago making ribbon skirts then adding ribbon shirts for children and adults. She enjoy the creativity of making unique Native pieces as well as upcycling existing clothing items with a Native flair. Margie is passionate about having the opportunity to host Native Fashion Shows with Native models wearing unique clothing items which gives them the opportunity to build personal confidence and pride in showcasing Native culture.
Additional Information
A ribbon skirt with black and white polkadot fabric as the base, decorated with red, yellow, blue, and black vertical stripes that feature smaller polkadots. There are two large floral patches on the right side that feature the colors blue, green, yellow, and orange.
