Artist Bio

Kubo Shunman was a Japanese artist and writer. He produced ukiyo-e prints and paintings, gesaku novels, and kyōka and haiku poetry.

The artist was an Ukiyoe-painter during the periods from Kansei to Bunsei (1789-1820).

Additional Information

Although Shunman Kubo studied under the great Ukiyoe artists of the time, he developed his own unique style, such as in the image shown here.
