Description

This mill stood at 106 South Fifth Street, just east of Kittson Avenue and the railroad crossing. Looking south in this photo, the building is still marked with the signage "PV [Peavy Co.] Flour Mills, Occident Flour, Since 1882." As a historic note, the breakfast product Cream of Wheat was first produced at this mill before operations were eventually moved to Minneapolis. The mill became vacant two years prior to the fire.
