Description

This photo depicts King Leo's Hamburgers and Mico Gas (according to the back of the photo) with parked cars and someone leaning on a bike. "The original King Leo's opened in 1960, and other locations also opened in Grand Forks and Minot, N.D., before the burger place closed in 1978. It was founded by Leon Latz of Rochester, Minn., for whom it was named, and his brother, Bruce Latz, who moved from Grand Rapids, Minn., to Fargo to start the business there. It opened on December 1, 1960, at 1833 S. University Drive. Burgers were 15 cents, cheeseburgers 19 cents and fries, malts and sodas completed the menu. At one time, King Leo's had restaurants in Rochester, Minnesota, Minot, North Dakota, and Grand Forks, all operated by Leon Latz."
