Abstract

UND stages another successful Feast of Nations festival, overflowing with international flavor

The University of North Dakota’s annual Feast of Nations celebration was deemed a huge success, and sold out for the second consecutive year.

The highlight of the festival, which took place on Saturday, Feb. 7, was the five-course meal and diverse entertainment that took place simultaneously.

“Students worked diligently to research and provide the viewers with a great experience and an opportunity to expand their taste pallets,” said Dawn Botsford, a university events coordinator. “The Alerus Center does a remarkable job working with the students to provide food that is traditional and authentic for the festival.”

The UND International Organization created 18 table displays that were hosted by students to provide spectators with an exceptional cultural perspective. More than 1,000 spectators enjoyed the diverse food, music and dance of the evening ? the 53rd rendition of the cultural festival.

“We strive to improve the festival every year,” Botsford said. “Debriefings with the production crew and students is the next step and we look forward to another successful Feast of Nations on Feb. 6, 2016.”
