North Dakota Young Professionals recognize UND among best places to work

The University of North Dakota has been named one of the Top Places to Work by the North Dakota Young Professionals (NDYP).

To mark the honor, Stacey Heggen, representing local Young Professionals, presented an award to the UND President Robert Kelley and Vice President of University and Public Affairs Susan Walton on Monday, March 11.

Encouragement of employers to help attract, retain and engage young professionals in North Dakota is an area of interest for many in the state, and the focus of North Dakota Young Professionals. To create a future in North Dakota, young professionals look for opportunities to be a part of companies that will help them build their personal and professional lives and leave their legacies within the community. For these reasons, the North Dakota Young Professionals Network (NDYP) finds it important to recognize business that provide high quality jobs and a work environment enticing to and in support of young professionals.

NDYP chose Barr Engineering Co., in Bismarck as the 2012 Best Place to Work."We had an overwhelming number of outstanding applicants this year which made a tough decision for the judges. The diversity and quality of nominees from across the state signifies that businesses in North Dakota understand the importance of attracting, retaining and engaging young professionals. We are excited about the growth of NDYP and continuing to work collaboratively across the state on supporting ongoing economic, workforce and community development initiatives." says Laurie Morse-Dell, NDYP Coordinator. "We are very proud to present Barr Engineering Co. with the Best Place to Work award and to recognize their unique and creative efforts in developing young professionals."
