Here Daumier portrays a lawyer practicing a court presentation before a make-believe judge—created by placing a hat on a broomstick. His argument before the court will focus on flattering the judge, rather than presenting evidence, to win his case.

Included in the Honoré Daumier III: Law, Medicine, and Social Satire exhibition, 2018.
