From James Carley's notes: Storage jar of stoneware 12 1/2" high, ovoid, with two lug handles. Unrefined body. Ribbing shows under the flouring ash glaze - yellow-olive green. The lip is almost flat. Glaze covers the whole pot. Particles of stone or kiln furniture have adhered to the bottom. A big glob of brown glaze has dropped on it. Mark: 2 scratched under one of the handles. Purchased L. Loman, Hickory NC.
