From James Carley's notes: Stoneware batter jug, with spout, bale handle & lug handle near the base. The glaze is brown-black at top, fading to a pale yellow at bottom. The lower handle is chipped. Tin cover & spout cover are gone. Lip is well worn. An impressed 4 under the spout. 12" high. Purchased Johnston, NY.
