From James Carley's notes: Stoneware jar with lug handles, 12" high. Alkaline brown-green glaze inside and out. Glaze stops short of the base. A slight collar. The lip turns down a little. Purchased on the road, I think in Kentucky, from a man who had set up a few things in an otherwise empty building.
