Redware Mixing Bowl No. 245

From James Carley's notes: Redware mixing bowl 14 1/2" dia., 5 1/2" high. Clear glaze inside and over the elaborate collar. Brown sponge marks. The body is extremely soft. It was dark brown before I cleaned it up. There is a spout in the rim for pouring, and two lug handles. Purchased at antique show, Indianapolis. It came from a St. Louis collector, who got it from the east.
