From James Carley's notes: Ovoid redware jar. 10 3/4" high with black gloss glaze covering the whole (brown where thin as around the rim and handles). The grooved strap handles are almost free of the body except at the ends where attached. Bonds of turned lines at shoulder and middle. There was a flat cover set in the collar - which has disappeared. There are body cracks. It came from Danville, Illinois. Mrs. Bandy had had it for 38 years.
