From James Carley's notes: Large ovoid stoneware jar 13 1/2" high. Salt glaze with brown slip lining, stylized floral figure brushed in blue, front and back. Loop handles barely attached to body with blue at terminals. Ribs at neck & foot. Impurities in body which show as pits and black spots. Slight sagging at the mouth in firing. Purchased Lynchburg VA. but the dealer said it came from New England.
