Description

This letter, dated October 15, 1956 from Mrs. E. V. Schanandore to United States (US) Representatives Usher Burdick and Otto Krueger asks for help in receiving the per capita payments authorized by US Public Law 533. Schanandore expresses frustration that the US Secretary of the Interior has not yet approved the release of funds. She says that tribal members are being treated like children. She asks Burdick and Krueger to help get the money this month and to let them know why the money is being withheld.
