Description

This letter, dated January 12, 1953, from United States (US) Representative Usher Burdick to Commissioner Dillion S. Meyer encloses a copy of the petition sent by Three Affiliated Tribes Tribal Chairperson Martin Cross which calls for the investigation of Jefferson B. Smith. Burdick asks Meyer to investigate the petition's allegations and to keep Burdick updated on his findings. A copy of the petition is not enclosed with this letter.
