Doctor M. J. Birrell poses for his portrait photograph as acting President of Wesley College during the 1950s. Doctor Birrell attended the inauguration of UND President George Starcher and gave an invocation and benediction during the ceremony in 1955.
Wesley College (later Wesley Center of Religion) was a Methodist institution located at and affiliated with UND. It provided primarily music and religious courses and housing for students enrolled in both institutions.
