Additional Information

Käthe Kollowitz was an important painter, printmaker, and sculptor whose expressionistic art often addressed powerful social and political issues, as well as tender human relationships as seen in this etching. This charming etching by Kollwitz was recently purchased to replace another impression of the same print that had mysteriously vanished from the campus. After searching for the missing Kollwitz for several years, and assuming it was lost forever, an opportunity arose to acquire its replacement.
